My Top 3 Aussie Expat Groups!

Moving overseas can be tough! I know! I did it last year.

But there are lots of great ways to connect with the Aussie expat community in New York City. Here are my Top 3 places to connect with Aussie expats!

  1. The Australian Community  – I’m so impressed with this group! The group is a  charity  and its mission is ” to connect Australians living in the United States through social, professional and charitable initiatives.” Their founder James Boland published an excellent newsletter this month about their partnership withMemorial Sloan Kettering, as part of their event Cycle for  Survival,  to help raise awareness about skin cancer.
  2. Australians In NYC Facebook Group  – I joined this 5000 strong private group on Facebook last week. If you have questions about your E-3 Visa, need a place to live or want to connect with other Aussie’s in NYC, then this is the place to be!
  3. Aussies in NYC Meet Up –  This group regularly hosts events on Australian holidays such as Australia Day and for the Footy Grand Final!

  1. Hi Taryn,

Thank you for the mention. FYI, in total we have around 3,800 Australian members just in NYC.
of overcoming the challenges of living in the US,

We also have a Yammer private social network that gives access to our extensive knowledgebase across the US as well as connections to other professional Australians.

Unlike Facebook groups, invitations are only extended to Australians who are living in the US and postings about accommodation represent less than 1% of posts!

We host monthly social as well as professional networking events, and there is no cost to join.

    Thanks again for the post
